With version 1.5 of Open Flame we have included a Windows platform installer.
This installer is designed to run on Windows 64 bits operating sytems, and should run on any of the following Windows versions:
XP
Vista
Windows 7
In Windows XP, all you have to do is double click the installation file to start the installation program and follow the instructions.
For Vista and Windows 7 an additional step is required to get Open Flame to run properly.
Due to the, in Vista introduced, UAC (User Access Control) system, you need to run the installation software as an administrator. This is to make sure that the installation software has the right permissions within Windows to setup all required software for Open Flame to run properly.
In order to do this, you just need to follow a few simple steps:
Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the Open Flame installer Right-click the installation file From the menu select "run as administrator" Follow the instructions of the installation software
That is all there is to it!
From the Start Menu, navigate to the 'Open Flame' menu entry to Start/Stop the Open Flame service, uninstall Open Flame and all related software, or to find a link to our website.
In your browser (we recommend Firefox) navigate to http://localhost:8080/openflame (or the URL that you specified during the installation) and you can start working with the Open Flame platform in Windows.
